Career Opportunities in Industrial Maintenance Technology

Are you interested in electronics, electricity, welding, pneumatics, or hydraulics?

These skills will prepare you for a challenging career in the manufacturing industry.

Companies across the nation need skilled people to keep their equipment working efficiently. Train for positions such as mechanic, technician, PLC programmer or maintenance technician. Beginning workers can expect to start in the $23-25,000 salary range.

Industrial Maintenance Technology

The Career Learning System of Finney County is a partnership of the Holcomb and Garden City Schools with Garden City Community College. This program is designed to give students the skills needed to attain challenging, well-paying jobs in the manufacturing industry.

Students may enter the program as high school juniors, but adult students are also welcome.

High school students earn both high school and college credit for the program courses.

How do I enter the program?

Application form - pick up a Center of Excellence application form from a high school or GCCC counselor.

Mechanical reasoning aptitude test - Counselors can give this short, 20 minute test.

Interview for a position in the program. The CLS coordinator will set up your interview.
