Education Services is the nation's largest industry, accounting for nearly 12 million jobs.  Retirements in a number of education professions will create numerous job opportunities in the future.

  • Teaching assistants and paraprofessionals

GCHS students may take the Exploring Teaching course but it is not offered for dual credit. Working with Children is offered at Garden City High School for dual credit. Holcomb High School students may take the Exploring Children Lab but it is not offered for dual credit.. Sociology, Psychology and Developmental Psychology are GCCC courses available through ITV or on campus.

Degree programs at GCCC have additional courses for specific degrees in Child Care, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education and the Nanny Program.  The curriculum provides the first two years.  Transfer to a four-year institution is necessary to complete requirements for a teaching degree.
