of Excellence. GCCC’s Criminal Justice Program
initiated in 1969 earned a strong reputation for
hands-on learning, team building and leadership.
Graduates not only learn theory, but use it. The
Criminal Justice Technology Center features crime
scene sketching, AFIX print technologies and multi-media
training for the courtroom and law enforcement,
along with other technology.
This program is for adults of any age. Interested
individuals high school graduates should talk to
a Garden City Community College counselor to enroll.
If you’re a high school student in Garden
City, you may earn articulated college credit when
you take Law I & II in your junior and senior

A new Certified Law Enforcement Training program
is being planned which will involve an innovative
reverse ride-along with the Finney County Sheriff’s
Office and the Garden City Police Department.
Community Service
Community involvement
and participation are essential elements of criminal
justice. Numerous opportunities for community service
are available to you each semester. Graduates complete
100 hours of community service.
Black and white supervised police training program
This unique opportunity for sophomore law enforcement
majors puts your education to practical use.
The program features three patrol vehicles
and two police motorcycles, all fully equipped,
dispatch
capabilities and the latest in radar, computer
and video equipment to allow you to work in
a variety of simulated situations. A new Certified
Law Enforcement Training program features an
innovative reverse ride-along with Finney County
Sheriff’s Office and Garden City Police
Department.

This two year, hands on program, leading to an
associate in science transfer degree emphasizes
the sciences, computer technologies and investigations.
Criminal Justice General Emphasis
This program places an emphasis on general criminal
justice topics including corrections and juvenile
justice. Designed as a transfer program, the
associate in science program prepares you to
move on to baccalaureate institutions
